Life in Colorado

September 14th, 2009

It has been so wonderful lately to actually have somewhat of a normal routine and schedule here in Colorado.  I (Jamie) have been trying the great homeschooling experiment with Junio and am actually finding that I like it a lot more than I thought I would.  We are blessed to be homeschooling together with our friends, the Mazzas, whose son, Cooper, is one of Junio’s best friends.

In the last month, we have gotten the opportunity to speak at Faith Church in Loveland, our home church.  We decided to be very real and open in sharing about our joys and struggles over the last two years. The response has been amazing, it seems the Lord really used us to touch a lot of peoples lives.  We have been so encouraged!

We also celebrated Lily’s first birthday on the 4th.  She seems to have grown up, in a sense, overnight.  She decided to ween herself on her birthday which has been a great relief to me :) And she has also just started becoming more mobile and expressive all of a sudden since her birthday.

Junio has been very excited to start soccer practice in the last week, Annabelle is doing dance, and I am taking a Pilates class.  Jeremy has continued his running and has been doing many time consuming computer updating tasks that just can’t be done in Africa (because of very slow internet), preparing for our return in February.  We have been also enjoying many hikes as a family while it is still nice enough weather for it.

We are planning on leaving on the 20th (next week) for CA and will be there just shy of two weeks.  We are staying with my Aunt and Uncle while we go to Legoland and Disneyland with Jeremy’s parents.  Then we will head up to the bay area to visit my Grandma and my family will join us there too.  Then we will head up to Redding to be part of a missions conference and visit lots of friends from the 25th of Sept- Oct. 1st.  My family is going to spend lots of time with the kids during the conference to help us out with childcare!  I don’t think they mind too much :)

A happy reunion and a stay in the US

July 11th, 2009

Hi Friends. Forgive us for not having posted in a while. As many of you know, Jamie and I were on different continents for almost 2 months. Jamie and the kids returned to the US in mid May while I stayed to finish my course and then joined them after graduating with my Masters in Bible Translation on July 4th. Last sunday was a very happy reunion for our little family. 7.5 weeks is a long time to be apart from your family (esp. when you have three little kids).

It occurred to us this week, however, that we may not have done a very good job of letting those who know us know that we have now officially returned on what our organization calls ‘furlough.’ This is basically a time to return to our home country and reconnect with family and friends, to rest and have a bit of a holiday (vacation). So we are in the US from now until the beginning of February 2010. We’d love to have a chance to get together with as many of you as we can….so feel free to contact us, or comment here on the blog and we can use the email you have to supply to get in touch with you.I don’t think you have to post your email for all to see (just me).  Thanks all. I suppose now that the internet connections we have are really good, I have no excuse for not posting much more often, so stay turned. Thanks for watching, heres a couple pictures.

Jeremy
